Caribou Highlands Lodge is a wonderful spot for both summer hikes and winter skiing adventures. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, with great amenities and friendly staff. While some areas could use a little updating, the overall experience is worth it. The on-site restaurant and bar offer excellent food, although the indoor pool shows signs of wear and tear. Overall, it's a fantastic value for a North Shore getaway.

The lodge rooms were clean and well-kept, featuring comfortable beds and great mountain views. However, some furnishings were a bit outdated, and additional lighting would improve the ambiance.

The staff was accommodating and attentive. Maintenance responded quickly to any issues, making for a hassle-free stay.
Location

The resort is ideally located near popular hiking trails and has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. It's a little far from the lake, but perfect for getting outdoors.

The food in the on-site restaurant was delicious, so good that I found myself ordering the same dish multiple times! The dining experience really added to my stay.

Our stay at Caribou Highlands was delightful, right in the heart of winter beauty with breathtaking views of Lake Superior and excellent access to skiing. The accommodations were comfortable and spacious, perfect for our large family, though we did find that the room sizes could be a bit snug. The activities offered were fantastic, particularly the free evening s'mores and the educational seminars. Overall, this place truly made for an exciting family vacation with loads of fun options, despite a couple of minor inconveniences.

The Timber townhome we stayed in had a cozy loft bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, but space was a bit tight, making it hard for us to unpack our suitcases.

The staff went above and beyond to enhance our stay, helping us enjoy the various activities and ensuring we had everything we needed.
Location
10.0
The location is unbeatable for skiing, being just steps away from the runs and the gondola, with stunning views all around.

While we cooked most meals in our unit, the convenience of nearby options was great. The food quality at Moguls, when we dined out, was quite good.
Facilities

The resort offered fantastic facilities including both indoor and outdoor pools which our kids loved, plus various activities that kept everyone entertained.

My friends and I have been visiting for years, enjoying the ski-in/ski-out convenience. This time, the accommodations were clean and spacious, but the closure of the external hot tub and absence of shuttle services really impacted our stay. We faced long lines after one ski lift closed, so while the townhome was great, some key amenities and services were lacking, leading us to consider other options for our next trip.

Rooms
8.0
The townhome we stayed in was clean, with spacious common areas and good appliances. However, the bedding in the upper room could have been warmer.
Service
5.0
There used to be shuttle services, which were missed this time. The remaining hot tub in the lodge was crowded, and the overall service felt a bit toned down compared to previous visits.
Location
7.0
The location at Lutsen is fantastic, right for skiing enthusiasts with easy access, but our experience was marred by operational issues.
Dining
Facilities

The resort has solid facilities, but with only one hot tub available, it felt limited, especially during busy peak times.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Caribou Highlands, where the location is superb and the rooms were very comfortable. Our unit was updated, and the kitchen made cooking a breeze. The service was exceptional, especially during the blizzard! The only downside was some cleanliness issues that need addressing, but overall, it was a great value for the price.

Rooms
9.0
Our unit was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable with a nice kitchen and an incredibly cozy gas fireplace.
Service
10.0
The service was excellent, especially when the general manager quickly addressed our reservation issue and offered a free night due to the blizzard.
Location

The hotel is ideally situated for skiing, just a short drive to the gondola and surrounded by beautiful views.
Dining

Dining options were convenient, but not overly varied with only a couple of places around.
Facilities

The pools were clean and enjoyable, but the hot tub area could get crowded.

I had a wonderful time during my stay at this resort. The location is stunning with breathtaking mountain views, and the amenities for families were great, especially the nightly s'mores. However, I did encounter some hiccups, like the limited availability of pool towels and the need to take out our trash ourselves. Additionally, while the rooms were comfortable, I felt they could use some updates given the price we paid.

Rooms
7.0
The room was comfortable and even stocked with puzzles and games, which was a nice touch for the kids during a rainy day. However, for the price, the rooms felt a bit dated and not ideal.
Service
7.0
The service was friendly, but there were moments when it felt a bit less attentive, like when we needed more pool towels and nobody followed up on our request.
Location
10.0
The location is simply spectacular, perfect for hiking and enjoying nature.
Dining
8.0
The breakfast was enjoyable, but there could be more variety.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were nice, especially the pool area, though I was disappointed with the lack of towels at busy times.
